7/2/22 Photo Shoot

Today it was Zoo day! I took my Canon R7 with a RF 100-400 lens along with the kit 18-150 and set off to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle. It was a cool day with changing amounts of sun. I’ve never tried to take photos at a zoo before so it was a learning experience. The lens selection was right for the conditions, but the “glass” on the enclosures was a challenge. I for the most part pressed the lens right against it to try and cut down on glare and reflections but it still could have been much better. I’m leaving out some of my big cat pictures as well as the otters do to glare issues. Maybe a circular polarizer could have helped. I used the 18-150mm lens for the butterfly shots and those came out good enough. More time with a better macro lens could have worked to my advantage. While I had good light a flash might have allowed for better subject separation.
